ALDOT announces planned lane closure for Asphalt Pavement Repairs along US-78 at the I-20 Interchange (exit 140) in Leeds, Friday
LEEDS – Weather permitting, beginning on Friday, August 22, 2014 beginning at 9:00 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin asphalt pavement repairs on US-78, at the I-20 Interchange (exit 140, in the City of Leeds, as follows:
• Friday August 22, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. asphalt pavement repairs will require the US-78 eastbound outside (right) lane and shoulder to be closed for pavement repairs. This will include pavement repairs on the I-20 eastbound exit ramp acceleration lane leading to US-78 eastbound.
• Upon completion of the pavement repairs in the US-78 eastbound outside (right) lane, the pavement repairs will continue in the eastbound inside (left) lane, requiring the US-78 eastbound inside (left) lane and shoulder to be closed while the work is in progress.
• All travel lanes will be reopened to traffic by 3:00 p.m.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
