It is with great pleasure to announce the 2020 Civic Award recipient – Melanie Carden. The award was presented to Melanie by Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Outgoing President, Dona Bonnett, via a personal visit in lieu of our annual awards luncheon.

This award is reserved for a city, police or fire employee who goes over and above.  Melanie currently serves as the Leeds Jane Culbreth Library Director.

Her strong leadership has been instrumental to the Leeds community and has brought many library events for library patrons to enjoy.  Melanie brings a huge amount of creativity and innovation to the table and takes her job very seriously.

She is a wonderful team player and works well with all government, city, chamber and business community leaders.  Melanie and her team provided many outdoor activities throughout the last year in conjunction with all of the downtown events hosted by the City of Leeds and chamber of commerce to increase our downtown foot traffic.

Melanie also serves as a board member on Leeds Redevelopment Board.
