Dona Bonnett with adr Business & Marketing Strategies was chosen for our August Business Spotlight.
Dona was recognized at the August Chamber Luncheon and had the opportunity to educate attendees about what adr Business & Marketing Strategies has to offer.
Dona grew up in St. Clair County and has lived in the area most of her life. Her parents and grandparents purchased a 100 acre farm in Odenville when she was 2 years old and her family moved from Birmingham to live the country life. Her family was a hard working family raising cows, pigs, hay and chickens so Dona was taught a great work ethic. Her dad had an entrepreneurial spirit about him and was always experimenting with new ventures.
Dona remembers being a preschooler with her family doing their weekly shopping in Leeds at the old Jimmy Moore’s Grocery. She and her brother, Charlie, would sit on the window ledge with an RC Cola and a candy bar while her parents and grandparents shopped for groceries; then, on to Western Auto for hardware needs.
After spending a few years in the North Alabama area, Dona and her husband, Gary, relocated back to the Leeds-Moody area a little over 2 years ago. They have three grown children and eight grandchildren.
Dona attributes much of her success to hard work, tenacity and a steadfast faith in God and has over 30 years experience in helping small businesses grow. She spent many years as a Practice Administrator of a large dermatology center, started her business consulting company 14 years ago helping companies on the business side and photography/video business 10 years ago with weddings and portrait work. After pouring herself into helping others and growing her own endeavors, she has added marketing as well as affordable websites to her portfolio.

Dona joined the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce early 2013 and immediately went to work as a volunteer. Dona worked directly with Sandra McGuire, Executive Director, to develop a Corporate Ambassador Program and the program quickly grew to 23 Corporate Ambassadors. Dona currently serves the Chamber as the 2013-2014 Ambassador Chair and received the Ambassador of the Year Award in January. The Corporate Ambassadors have been a great addition to the Chamber and offers another level of business exposure to its’ Members who are participating. Dona also created the new Chamber website and assists with social media marketing.
