Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Announces Leeds Kindness Project 2025
Leeds Kindness Project 2025
The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of the “Leeds Kindness Project,” a community-wide initiative celebrating National Kindness Month this February. This campaign builds on the success of last year’s “Leap of Kindness” campaign and aims to inspire residents, businesses, and organizations to spread kindness throughout the community.
“Kindness is at the heart of what makes Leeds such a special place,” said Amy Lee, Executive Director of the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce. “With the Leeds Kindness Project, we want to empower everyone to make a positive impact by spreading goodwill, not only to individuals but also to our local businesses.”
Highlights of the Leeds Kindness Project:
- Everyone in the City of Leeds is invited to participate in random acts of kindness throughout the month of February or choose a kindness project to complete in February.
- Kindness in Action Day: Friday, February 28, 2025 will be designated as Leeds Kindness in Action Day, where everyone is encouraged to deliver their kindness projects or perform a random act of kindness and to share photos of their efforts with the Chamber (diane.leedsareachamber@gmail.com). Whether it’s buying lunch for a coworker, writing a positive online review, or supporting a local shop, every act counts.
- Days of Kindness Ideas: Throughout February, the Chamber will share daily kindness ideas on social media to inspire businesses and residents to take action. These will be pulled from a list of “101 Ways to Be Kind” and will include gestures for neighbors, businesses, and community members alike. These ideas will be available on the Chamber website for those looking for a kindness project to undertake.
- Be Kind to Businesses: This year, the Chamber is encouraging everyone to place a focus on being kind to local businesses. Ideas include leaving positive reviews, sharing social media posts, shopping locally, and referring friends to Leeds-area businesses. “Supporting local businesses is one of the greatest acts of kindness,” Lee added.
- The Chamber as the 'Heart of Leeds' and the hub of community connection: the Chamber will provide resources and inspiration for individuals and groups to join the kindness movement. Everyone participating in the Leeds Kindness Project is encouraged to communicate your projects to the Chamber, so we can show the world how kind the people of Leeds, Alabama, are.
“We hope this project fosters an even greater sense of community,” Lee said. “Whether through small gestures or grand acts, kindness is a ripple that can truly transform lives.”
The Chamber invites all residents, businesses, schools, and organizations to participate in the Leeds Kindness Project. Let’s make February a month to remember by showing the world why Leeds is a community with a heart!
What will you do in honor of this day?
