Leeds Area Chamber Hosts June Luncheon

Featuring Brother Jacky Connell’s Leadership Insights

The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its June Chamber Luncheon on Thursday, June 19, at First Baptist Church Leeds, featuring guest speaker Brother Jacky Connell, Senior Pastor of Eden Westside Baptist Church.

In a dynamic and encouraging presentation, Brother Jacky shared his unique take on leadership, introducing his version of the “Five P’s of Leadership”: People, Problems, Patience, Perseverance, and Promotion. Drawing from years of ministry and leadership experience, he offered attendees practical and inspiring principles for navigating the challenges of leadership.

“People, problems, patience, perseverance, and promotion will get you into the leadership end zone,” Brother Jacky emphasized, reminding attendees that leadership is a journey shaped by interactions, trials, and steadfast commitment. Highlights from his message included:

• People: “To add value to others, one must first value others.”
• Problems: “Problems are not tools to tear you down, but tests to build you up.”
• Patience: “Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.”
• Perseverance: “It’s the hard work you do after you get tired of the hard work you already did.”
• Promotion: A call to forward movement—promoting yourself and others daily.
