Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Awards 2026 Diplomat Scholarships

The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce recently recognized three outstanding Leeds High School seniors as recipients of the 2026 Chamber Diplomat Scholarships, generously sponsored by Heidelberg Materials.

Each year, the Chamber awards scholarships to deserving students who have participated in the Chamber Diplomat program during both their junior and senior years. Diplomats work closely with the Chamber of Commerce by assisting with monthly luncheons, volunteering at community events, and lending a helping hand wherever needed throughout the year.

This year’s group of diplomats made the selection process especially difficult due to their dedication, leadership, and service to the community. After review by the Chamber Board and representatives from Leeds High School, three students were selected to receive $500 scholarships to assist with their college studies.

The 2026 Chamber Diplomat Scholarship recipients are:

• Allison Alvarez — committed to University of Alabama at Birmingham and plans to major in Pre-Professional Design and Technology.
• Colton Moody — committed to Florida State University and plans to major in Finance. Colton also served as the Chamber intern during the 2025-26 school year.
• Tyler Vandiver — plans to major in World Languages and is currently finalizing his college decision.

“The Chamber Diplomat program gives students an opportunity to gain leadership experience, connect with the business community, and serve their hometown in meaningful ways,” said Chamber Board President Steve Karr. “We are proud of these students and excited to see all they accomplish in the future.”

The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates Allison, Colton, and Tyler and wishes them continued success as they begin this exciting new chapter.
