Music, Vendors and Family Fun Highlight 31st Annual Creek Bank Festival

The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 31st Annual Creek Bank Festival on Saturday, May 16, at Leeds Memorial Park.

There were dozens and dozens of vendors at the event where festival-goers could purchase crafts, learn about area businesses and non-profits, and more. There were also a large number of food vendors providing a variety of international and domestic dishes and cold sweet treats with something for just about everybody!

The entertainment lineup kicked off with Lynnox Poe, a popular local singer/songwriter/instrumentalist. Local favorite Love Rat entertained the crowd with their high-energy mix of classic rock favorites and crowd-pleasing fun. Terry Padgett, back by popular demand, provided an excellent Elvis tribute to wow the crowd.

The hit of the day was Jason Petty as Hank Williams. Jason Petty, an award-winning performer, brought the music and legacy of Hank Williams to life in a powerful tribute that has captivated audiences nationwide. Petty has also performed at the historic Ryman Auditorium and made multiple appearances on the Grand Ole Opry. Petty is widely recognized as one of the premier interpreters of Hank Williams’ music, and the crowd loved him!

The Hula Hoop Competition sponsored by Bob Watkins Realty was a whirlwind of excitement and fun! Participants of all ages showcased their skills and dazzled the crowd with their impressive moves. From beginners to seasoned pros, everyone brought their A-game to the competition. There was a lot of energy as contestants twirled, spun, and danced to the beat of the music. Congratulations to the winning hula-hoopers! Ensley Crabtree and Dani Chenoweth tied in the overall round; Elizabeth Joiner and Dani Chenoweth tied in the age 13 and over round; and Ensley Crabtree won the age 12 and under round.

Two by Two Animal Rescue shared information about pet adoption and celebrated a successful day at the festival, with at least two pets finding their forever homes!

Other highlights included face painting (sponsored by The Shops of Grand River), balloon art (sponsored by Mills Pharmacy), bounce houses, pony rides, a foam zone, and a petting zoo. The Cruising the Creek Bank Car Show, sponsored by C & C Motor Co., drew over 350 cars and raised over $6K for Backpack Buddies and Leeds Outreach.

There are still a few Creek Bank Festival t-shirts available. Quantities are limited, so be sure to stop by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce chamber office next week to get yours and celebrate 31 years of fun, food, and family.
