Alabama Power Safety Program – First Responders 6/14/17:  Leeds Alabama Power is hosting a Safe-T-Zone Program for first responders next week. This program is about an hour long and covers topics for first responders including downed lines, house fires, and other common situations they may see that involve electricity. The focus is on training first responders on how to be safe around electricity. I would like to invite your first responders, streets and sanctions, and anyone else you feel that could benefit from this program to attend.

Safe-T-Zone

Alabama Power’s new high voltage safety program, called Safe-T-Zone, was designed with first responders in mind and with input from the Alabama Fire College. This custom built trailer generates 14,400 volts and uses both primary and secondary voltage to demonstrate potential dangers of overhead and underground power lines.

Safe-T-Zone is presented by Alabama Power lineman and covers a variety of topics like the consequences of pulling a meter at a house fire, what to do when encountering downed lines, and how to handle outages during a disaster. The program is presented outside and concludes with a Q&A section hosted by our licensed and experienced lineman.

Safe-T-Zone is ideal for firefighters, police officers and volunteer firefighters. We need at least a few weeks’ lead time, so contact us today to schedule your group
