Economic Impact Report - 2019

Serving Alabama's Small Businesses Since 1980

At the core of any successful business are driven leaders. But passion isn’t enough to overcome all obstacles. Large companies have ready access to expertise and capital. Smaller companies lack these critical resources. Drive and inventiveness alone can’t overcome this crucial lack of resources.

The Alabama SBDC levels the playing field. We unlock the potential of any business by providing business expertise normally reserved for large, established companies.

With 10 centers and 40 outreach locations, the Alabama SBDC has a location near you.

The Alabama Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) has offices that are co-located with the Alabama SBDC. Procurement Specialists help companies compete for government contracts. The AL-PTAC offers the state's only no-cost bid-matching service.

The William R. Bennett Alabama International Trade Center, located at the University of Alabama, provides export research, training, and financing services to Alabama’s small business community. The Trade Center has been providing these valuable services to the public for 41+ years. Its dedicated staff includes professionals that specialize in international sales & marketing, logistics, export controls & licensing, business strategy, and export finance.
