Central Alabama Parliamentary Unit Meeting Wednesday Feb 12

Central Alabama Parliamentary Unit Meeting Wednesday, Feb. 12

Did you know that “I so move” is not a motion? That no formal motion is needed to approve minutes, accept committee reports or adjourn? If not, you will want to learn more about correct parliamentary procedure with the newly formed Central Alabama Parliamentary Unit.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, February 12 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church, 7481 Parkway Drive (Highway 78) in Leeds. The unit meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to study topics from Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, 11th Edition.

Topics for the February meeting include “Parliamentary Terms” and “The Deliberative Assembly and Its Rules”, Chapter 1. Grady Sue Saxon, who is a retired educator and registered parliamentarian, will be teaching the class. Books are available for use by visitors. For more information, call Mrs. Saxon at 205-699-2440.
