Leeds Area Chamber Members Explore the Future of AI and the Workplace

Members of the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce gained valuable insights into the future of business and artificial intelligence during the Chamber’s luncheon on July 16, 2026, featuring guest speaker David Salters of Salters Advisory.

Drawing on more than 15 years of experience as a business advisor, leadership coach, and strategic planning consultant, Salters discussed how artificial intelligence is reshaping today’s workplace while emphasizing that the qualities technology cannot replace—leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and relationship-building—will become increasingly valuable.

Rather than viewing AI as something to fear, Salters encouraged business owners and employees to embrace it as a tool that can improve efficiency and open new opportunities for growth. He noted that while automation will continue to transform many white-collar professions, the demand for skilled trades and employees with strong interpersonal skills is expected to remain high.

Salters also discussed workforce trends, demographic changes, and the importance of preparing future generations for careers in an evolving economy. He encouraged attendees to rethink how businesses train employees, develop leaders, and equip young people for success in a rapidly changing world.

“The human element matters more than ever,” Salters emphasized throughout his presentation, reminding attendees that technology is most effective when paired with strong leadership and meaningful human connection.
