Throughout his career, Marks has focused on building relationships, growing membership and business, developing marketing strategies and creating positive customer and member experiences. He is also no stranger to the chamber of commerce world, with professional affiliations that include the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited to welcome Josh as executive director of the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Steve Karr, president of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Josh brings a strong background in relationship building, membership development and marketing, but just as importantly, he has a genuine love for Leeds and a personal investment in this community. We believe his experience, energy and enthusiasm will be tremendous assets as we continue working to support our members, strengthen our business community and move the Chamber forward.”

For Marks, the opportunity to lead the Leeds Area Chamber is especially meaningful because Leeds has always been home.

“I'm a Leeds native. My family has called this place home for generations,” Marks said. “Behind Mama and God, there was the Greenwave. From grabbing ice cream at Spruiell's after school to learning how to ride a bike inside the old fire station #1, I couldn't ask for better memories or a better place to create them. To this day, I can't even get a good night's sleep without hearing trains in the distance. As the new chamber director, it is now my honor to help serve and assist the local businesses who prop up our way of living.”
