Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Plans 21st Annual Creek Bank Festival

Leeds, Al- The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce is working diligently to plan the 21st Annual Creek Bank Festival scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM in the Leeds Memorial Park on Highway 119.

The Sweets Bakeoff kicks off with the taste testing by the judges at 11:00 AM. If you have a dessert everyone loves or thinks is unique, then you need to enter this contest. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded at Noon on the main stage and there is no cost to enter. Get your sweet tooth ready because the sweets will be sold at the festival immediately after the contest.

The 2nd Annual Chick-fil-A Mascot Challenge will begin around 11:00 AM. The Chick-fil-A Cows, State Farm Mascot, Higrove Vet Care Dog, Home Depot Homer, Leeds High School Greenie and Sparky are among some of your favorite Mascots who competed last year and will join the competition again this year on the obstacle course as well as be available just prior to the challenge to meet and greet. If your company has a mascot that would like to participate, there’s still room to get in on the action. This will be a fun and exciting segment of the festival entertainment.

For dog lovers, a dedicated dog event area will showcase dog activities all during the day including Agility, Obedience & Rally Demonstrations and Therapy Dogs sponsored by Petiquette. The Creek Bark Dog Pageant will highlight dogs of all shapes and sizes. Dogs must be up to date on vaccines to participate. Ribbons and trophies will be awarded.

A Princess Tea Party, sponsored by LA Salon, Flowers & Boutique, will be available for your special Princess with refreshments and activities. Lots of additional children’s activities will be available all day long, sponsored by Bass Pro Shop.

Our very own Terry Padgett – Elvis Tribute Artist, Choko Aiken Combo, Stairway Acoustics, Shelby Duke and Stephanie Maxey are among the performing vocal artists with entertainment all day long on the main stage including a Moon Pie Eating Contest with RC Cola, sponsored by Michelle Davis Dental.

Barney Fife impersonator along with his antique Mayberry police car will make a guest appearance throughout the day for autographs and photo ops. Creek Bank Festival T-Shirts will be available to purchase at $15 each in a variety of sizes.

Festival Booth Space is available for food, crafts and other types of vendors. Electricity is available on a first come-first serve basis and some booth space is limited to one space per type of vendor, so immediate registration is highly recommended to ensure your participation.

Celebrating its’ 21st year, the 2015 Creek Bank Festival will provide plenty of fun, food and entertainment for you, your family and friends to enjoy so please help us get the word out and plan to spend all day so you won’t miss a single exciting event!
