Diplomat Tour to St. Clair County Law Enforcement Training Center
Our Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce High School Diplomats learned about law, safety and justice today with a tour of the St. Clair County Law Enforcement Training Center and spent some time on the shooting range. This was a very educational experience for these students and they all enjoyed their time there. Thank you to the St. Clair County Sheriff's office for making this tour possible and taking the time to share valuable information with the students.
Our high school diplomats are chosen each year from juniors and seniors of Leeds High School. These students have the opportunity to tour local businesses to learn more about career paths and career opportunities in the greater Leeds area as they develop their own plans for the future.
These students also attend our monthly chamber of commerce luncheons on a rotating basis throughout the school year as well as work different chamber and community events. Their community service through this program helps to develop each of them as leaders, educate them about the chamber of commerce and business, give them a bigger picture of how businesses work and career opportunities here should they decide to get a job here after college. Students also make vital contacts that can be instrumental in helping them succeed in life.
High School Diplomats also have the opportunity to earn a scholarship. Recipients are chosen based on their performance as a Diplomat throughout the school year and awarded in the spring.
