This workshop will be facilitated by BancorpSouth which will cover these two topics: 1) Banking Services Available for Small Business and 2) Credit Reporting for Small Business – Demystified. These subjects are very important to any person who owns a business or thinking of starting a business.

Many business owners utilize their tax deductions of their business expenses to the fullest to reduce their annual tax burden. In doing so, sometimes their taxable income is greatly reduce so when applying for credit they cannot substantiate enough income to satisfy lending institutions for loans needed to carry out their day to day business. Also, many companies do not realize the banking services that are available to enhance their business operations. These two workshops are designed to give you important information so that you may make informed decisions on carrying out your daily financial tasks.

Banking Services Available for Small Business

This module provides an overview of business banking services.

After completing this module, the participants will be able to:
• Recognize the most common banking services for small businesses, including merchant services, payroll processing, business credit and others.
• Understand how other small business owners decide which banking services to use.
• Evaluate the applicability of each of banking service to their business needs.

This workshop will be facilitated by BancorpSouth.Session 3b:

Credit Reporting for Small Business – demystified

This module provides an overview of credit reporting and is designed to help participants to understand how reporting their credit can
benefit their business.

After completing this module, the participants will be able to:
• Understand how credit reports are used in the underwriting of business loans.
• Apply common business practices and tools to help in proper credit reporting.
• Develop strategies to build or improve their business’ credit.
• Protect themselves from credit-related scams and know what to do if their business becomes a victim.

This workshop will be facilitated by Gateway Financial and BancorpSouth.

This is series of 6 workshops will be held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning January 13, 2015 and ending on March 24, 2015.
