Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce August Luncheon Highlights Leeds Outreach, Small Business Awards

Thank you to Ron Whitehead, board treasurer for Leeds Outreach, for joining us at this week’s Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon to share about the important work this organization is doing in our community!

Founded in 1994, Leeds Outreach is a volunteer-run Christian nonprofit serving Leeds families through food assistance, help with utility expenses, school supplies, scholarships, Christmas for Kids and other programs designed to meet needs and offer hope.

Ron shared some impressive numbers that show just how far that impact reaches. So far this year, Leeds Outreach has provided more than 2,700 food distributions, and last year the organization helped provide school supplies for 146 children and Christmas assistance for more than 200 children. Through the generosity of local churches, businesses, organizations and individuals—and the dedication of more than 40 volunteers—Leeds Outreach continues to make a tremendous difference in our community.

We are grateful to Ron for sharing the Leeds Outreach story with us and to Beverly, who has faithfully served the organization for many years, for the work she and the entire Leeds Outreach team do for our neighbors.

The Chamber also announced the winners of this year’s Small Business Awards during today’s luncheon. (See our separate post for the winners and more about this year’s awards.)
