Leeds Outreach Update

Leeds Outreach

Leeds Outreach

We just about have school supplies completed (school starts in Leeds Wednesday). Some parents still have not picked up their boxes of school supplies. Thanks for all who gave and worked so hard to prepare for about 120 children.

We have not had a food drive in quite a long time and I am contacting you emphasizing our need for food.  We need to plan a drive very soon.  With school starting back maybe we can get some school club participation in having a drive at the grocery stores.  Because the United Way Food Bank was taking inventory this week, we could not place an order and that will be the first thing we will do next week when it becomes available.

As of yesterday when I picked up and took pizza to put in the freezer, we had 3 whole chickens, one pack of leg quarters, one pack beef, a few bologna and wieners, some of which I bought Wednesday.  We do have some canned tuna, roast beef and chicken. Low on most canned vegetables. Even getting low on green beans which we have never been.

Those of you associated with our donor churches, please stress the current need for food donations.  When school is out, our clients need extra food with the children at home and we do give out a lot.  Before we can realize it, the holidays will be upon us again also!

Thanks to all of you for what you have done and continue to do for the Leeds Outreach.
