Master-planned Community Opens in Leeds

LEEDS, Ala.—The Grand Opening of Leeds’ newest community was held Tuesday, Aug. 17, at

Grand River located off of Rex Lake Road adjacent to Barber Motorsports Park. Leeds Mayor

David Miller performed the honor of cutting the ribbon to officially open the Model Home in

the master-planned community.

Developed by USS Real Estate, Grand River now offers new homes for sale starting in the

$300,000s with square footages ranging from approximately 1,500 to 2,900. The first phase of

Grand River is named Unali which means friend in Cherokee.

“Grand River is a special place where community and nature are front and center. This led us to

name the first neighborhood Unali to symbolize that this is a place to foster friendships,” said

Brian Sparks, Vice President at Ingram and Associates, the company handling the marketing

and sales for Grand River.

With homes built by Newcastle Homes, Unali is an enclave of 56 homes with a community park

and sidewalks. Future phases as well as a pool and clubhouse amenities are in the planning stages

of this 3,000-acre master-planned community. One of the most popular features of Grand River

is the nature trail system within the community. Residents have access to miles of woodland

hiking trails with creeks throughout the trail system. The developer plans to build a primitive

camping site for resident use. In addition, land within the community has been reserved for

building a future elementary school to serve Leeds.
