Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce will host their monthly chamber luncheon at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 18 at Leeds First Methodist Church located at 1189 6th Street, Leeds with Guest Speaker:  Bethany Dowling - Therapist and PACT Coordinator (Professionals Against Childhood Trauma).

This is a great opportunity to meet and develop relationships with other Leeds area business professionals, hear a great speaker and enjoy a great lunch.  Also, businesses are encouraged to bring door prizes to advertise your business.

Bethany Dowling

Bethany Dowling is a Leeds resident. She has been married to her husband Ryan for 16 years. They have two little girls. Eliana is 7 and Aubrey who is 5. Eliana and Aubrey are a blessing and a God-send. Bethany is a local graduate from Leeds High School. She went on to pursue her college education in Tulsa Oklahoma at Oral Roberts University in Psychology with a minor in Voice. Her husband Ryan told her he dreamed to go to ORU. Bethany had always dreamed to marry a youth pastor, but told him she would follow him to dentistry school. Little did she know that Oral Roberts was a well-known Evangelist and had a ministry college named after him. Bethany and Ryan graduate in 2010 and came back to their roots in Leeds. Bethany continued her education at The University of Montevallo. She received her Masters in Education in Marriage and Family Therapy. She worked for few years in private practice and at Kings Home working with children in foster care. She became a stay-at-home Mom for 2 years when her girls were born. She had always felt that God had a calling on her life in the area of counseling. She took the position at The Children’s Place St. Clair Advocacy Center in 2019 as lead Therapist. She has received training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Therapy, Forensic Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a goal of helping children and youth heal from their abuse. Bethany is the 7th Grade representative for St. Clair County. She, along with other volunteers, go into all St. Clair County and city schools to teach all of the local students under Erin’s Law about internet safety, trafficking, and abuse awareness. Bethany is also the MDT or treatment team Coordinator who works with the St. Clair D.A.’s office, local law enforcement from St. Clair and Leeds, as well as DHR. Bethany is currently pursing further licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy in efforts of seeing where this world of therapy will take her.
