Member Appreciation Luncheon 2025
Leeds Area Chamber Member Appreciation Luncheon 2025
The Leeds Area Chamber Luncheon was held Thursday, October 23, at Leeds First Methodist Church, and it was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, good food, and community appreciation.
This luncheon served as the Chamber’s annual Member Appreciation event and also a special opportunity to thank Mayor David Miller for his 13 years of dedicated service to the City of Leeds. A plaque was presented to Mayor Miller by Steve Karr, President of the Chamber’s board of directors, on behalf of the Chamber.
Highlights from Mayor Miller’s Remarks
Mayor Miller shared updates and accomplishments from his administration, including:
- A new $2M pickleball complex with a tornado shelter.
- Renovations to the tennis courts and new playground equipment at Leeds Memorial Park.
- Major progress on downtown sidewalk and street projects, with much of the cost funded through outside sources.
- The city’s acquisition of the former Alabama Commerce Bank building, valued at nearly $2M, at no cost to taxpayers.
- Over 80 new or expanded businesses and 1,300+ new jobs created during his tenure.
- Ongoing dedication of $1M annually to paving and drainage improvements.
Mayor Miller also praised Leeds’ first responders, whom he described as “second to none.”
Members enjoyed grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, masterfully prepared by the chamber member ServPro of Birmingham. The Chamber also extends its appreciation to the ladies of Leeds First Methodist Church and the student ambassadors, Colton Moody, Olivia Jackson, and Ella Richerzhagen, for their help serving lunch, and to the church for hosting this special event.
The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce appreciates the continued support of its members and community partners in making these monthly gatherings a valuable experience for all who attend.
