The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to Spend the Day in Leeds on Saturday, April 12, 2025, for an unforgettable experience celebrating the charm, culture, and community of historic Leeds. From the nostalgic 1950s Historic Walking Tour to shopping, live music, markets, and more, this special day offers something for everyone—so mark your calendar and get ready to make memories in downtown Leeds!
The highlight of the day is the 1950s Historic Walking Tour from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., where the streets of Leeds will come alive with the spirit of a bygone era. Slip into your poodle skirts and leather jackets and stroll down Parkway Drive as you:
- Interact with historical re-enactors portraying iconic Leeds figures from the 1950s
- Explore informative exhibits showcasing the architecture, businesses, and daily life of the era
- Tap your toes to live music by the Leeds High School Jazz Ensemble and an Elvis Tribute performance by Aiden Joiner
- Enjoy a sock hop and grab delicious eats from local food trucks
Start your journey at Parkway Drive between 7th and 9th Street and explore the many downtown landmarks transformed into time capsules of 1950s Leeds. This family-friendly, self-guided tour is perfect for history buffs, music lovers, and anyone who enjoys a good throwback.
But the fun doesn’t stop there—Leeds will be buzzing with activity all day long!

- Market on Main (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.): Shop local vendors and food trucks on 8th Street in the heart of downtown hosted by Leeds Main Street.
- Yellowhammer Antiques' Outdoor Spring Market (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.): Crafts, vintage finds, outdoor vendors, live music, food, and face painting at 8430 1st Avenue SE.
- 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser (2:00-5:00 p.m.): Compete and give back at 8370 2nd Avenue in support of Hope-filled Rooms charitable organization.
